We realize there has been a lot of publicity surrounding CATCH and bedbugs at one of our properties, the Endicott Hotel. We would like to keep you, our supporter, informed about what has been going on and what our response has been so you have an accurate picture of the situation.

CATCH has been actively working with our property management company, MB Management, and our pest control company to aggressively treat the issue with as little inconvenience to residents as possible and with the concern for and support of our residents that CATCH has always demonstrated.

CATCH staff continue to meet and correspond regularly with MB Management staff to keep abreast of the situation, and we have been relieved to know that MB staff, both property management and maintenance staff, have worked exceptionally hard to combat the bedbugs and offer the extra help any resident might need.

Whether it is moving furniture prior to fumigation or visiting extensively with residents to educate them on the process, we are completely satisfied that our residents are being well taken care of and the situation is being handled with compassion and respect for everyone involved.

As you may know, bedbugs are now an unfortunate reality, and they are present in all areas of modern life; be it a five-star hotel or an apartment building, they affect all walks of life with no regard for income or personal cleanliness.

The extremely invasive nature of bedbugs makes them very hard to control, but everyone at CATCH and MB Management is committed to serving our residents and assisting them in whatever way necessary to control the problem. We have had many generous offers of donations of furniture or bedding (as this all must be replaced once infested), but at this time all of our residents' needs have been met. If that changes, we will be sure to let you know.
